Recently I asked a property owner in Safety Beach what they’re looking for in their real estate agent. They told me they want someone who will do the right thing by them.
Sellers place a huge amount of trust in their agent. They rely on us to get the best price for their most valuable possession. So how do you tell a trustworthy agent from an ordinary agent?
Trustworthy agents have credibility.
This table will help you highlight the differences:
Gives a well-researched price estimate
Talks you through the comparable sales
Gives you valuable market insights
Knows about the on-market properties
Asks you lots of questions
Has credibility in the media
Creates their own credibility with results
Explains their marketing plan
Has positive seller & buyer reviews
Gives back to those less fortunate
Gives a price estimate with no research
Doesn’t offer much information
Doesn’t know the market trends
Doesn’t talk about competing listings
Talks more about themselves
Hasn’t been published in the media
Relies on their office profile
Suggests a generic marketing plan
Has average reviews
Doesn’t give back
A trustworthy agent will back up their price estimate with comprehensive research. They will not suggest a misleading or confusing pricing strategy, ‘bait advertising’ or a generic advertising proposal. They will offer high quality marketing to get you the highest price in the market.
A credible agent doesn’t take credit for sales they personally didn’t handle and can show you lots of positive reviews from their seller clients and buyer customers. Credible agents are highly skilled in selling real estate and usually have built their expertise over a decade of practice.
